    William deLillo and Kenneth Jay Lane designed oversized jewels that defined the “look” of faux jewelry in the 1950s and 60s. DeLillo’s jewels were always large in scale and bold in design. Period Vogue magazines attest to the popularity of his collections during this era.

    This suite consists of “twisted” rhinestone strips which become very 3 dimensional when overlapped. When worn these epitomize more the tailored evening glamour of the 1950s. Hundreds of hand set Swarovski crystals are set into the flexible rhodiumed metal. Necklace and bracelet can be joined for a longer length approx.23″.

The heavy heart shaped lucite slider is a relic of one of the most scandalous romances of the 20th Century and property from the Villa Windsor in the Bois de Boulogne, decorated by Maison Jansen and dispersed by Sothebys in the 1990s.
