Coppola e Toppo for Schiaparelli ombre aquamarine crystal and gilt metal necklace. A plastron of blue ombre crystal arabesques is supported from three strands of aqua crystals. Excellent condition. Hand made in Italy 1950's.

The Coppola e Toppo company was formed in the late 1940′s by brother and sister designer duo, Bruno Coppola and Lyda Toppo in Milan, Italy. After small commissions for Dior and Balenciaga, Elsa Schiaparelli commissioned a line of faux coral bead jewelry, which launched them to the top of the couture fashion echelon. Pucci and Valentino followed with more commissions. This allowed them to increase the number of their jewelry designs under their own trademark, “Made in Italy by Coppola e Toppo.
