Norma Kamali created a stable of "Fords" in the 1980's and 90's and reworked them in every imaginable fabric. She created classics like this shirtwaist dress, here in patriotic red, white and blue flannel. Her pieces were always anchored onto massive shoulder pads which were removable and attached with velcro.
The main image is shot without the shoulder pads and looks much more contemporary. The other images were shot with the pads intact.
