Victorian Taxidermy Hawk Headpiece

Extraordinary eery and breathtakingly beautiful.
This headpiece dates from the late 19th Century.
Long before Alexander McQueen mined the darkness of the 19th century aesthetic, Victorians partied hard at lavish costume themed parties with extravagant creations such as this.
Here a taxidermied hawk has been applied to soft band and can be worn as a bird crown/tiara for a modern goth bride. A head band would have to be attached for the head piece to be worn as it was probably stitched or pinned into elaborate hair.
Excellent condition.
