Early Comme des Garcons Sheer Coat Dress in graphic black-white print. Simply tailored and falling from strong shoulder pads. The top is cut like a mans overcoat but the hem is doubled onto itself assymetrically. The front and back panels are cut in one piece and loop at the legs. There are panels at hip level that have tucks which release into the looped hem below.
The grain remains the same on the right side of garment and is pulled 180 degress on the left. The 2 sides meet at center back and flyaway kite panels are formed by the tucks on the hip. Unusual cut that changes with wearers movements. When worn, the jacket splays out below last button and opens in front. Rei Kawakubo, 1980's France. Excellent condition.
Length: 46, Shoulder 6", Sleeve 23", Bust 40", Waist 38", Hip 50
